Homemade Deodorant

Ingredients
2 TBsp Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
1/4 C Baking Soda
1/4 C Cornstarch
15 drops of Tea Tree Oil

(I have recently read up on how you should avoid Tea Tree Oil if you are pregnant or nursing. However Cinnamon Oil is safe from what I have read and I think I will try this in place of the Tea Tree Oil until I'm done nursing Joey). *Disclaimer* I am not a medical professional. **Allow me to first of all say how much I LOVE this deodorant!!! And say thank you to Ivory & TL over at Little House in the Suburbs Blog for posting this recipe. You can view the original recipe HERE

As you may know by now, I have dealt with eczema for many years so my skin is very sensitive to many beauty products. I always struggled with finding an all natural deodorant that was gentle on my skin but kept me from....well...clearing out the room with my stink!

I have tried so many different products and they either worked for the smell but made me itch like crazy, or I would break out, or it was gentle enough on my skin but within an hour or two of applying the deodorant I would start to stink again.

I first tried this deodorant AFTER a sweaty racquetball match at the gym with a friend of mine! I stunk like a skunk! I put this deodorant on and not only did it cause me from becoming more stinky but it ELIMINATED the body odor smell that was already there!!! Amazing! Here I am a few hours later and I'm still smelling fresh. This was so completely gentle on my skin I would recommend this to anyone who has eczema or sensitive skin.

Add your baking soda to a medium bowl....
 Add your cornstarch....
 Then add the coconut oil....
And lastly the tea tree oil....
 Mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
Until the mixture is pasty and smooth.
Wash out an old deodorant stick tube...
Start to fill it with the homemade mixture. Just screw down the platform as you fill the stick.

Allow it to settle a bit....then...
Place the deodorant in the freezer for about 5-10 minutes. It will solidify. Then you can store it in the frig to keep it solid. Apply VERY lightly. I LOVE this stuff!!!!
